Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi has spoken out on the biggest difference between current boss Unai Emery and former manager Arsene Wenger highlighting the fight that the club is putting through in this campaign.

Just before Unai Emery took charge of Arsenal football club back in the summer of 2018, there as stale air around the North London club when Arsene Wenger was at the helm. The French boss wasn’t able to get Arsenal competing over the last few seasons in his rein and the club also wasn’t able to qualify for a Champions League spot for the last two seasons.

Wenger spent 22 years at Arsenal winning three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups but during his last few seasons, he wasn’t able to take the club forward and announced his resignation after most of the Arsenal faithful turned against him.

However, Arsenal is now in a strong position to qualify for the elite tournament as they have control of their own destiny as they can finish inside the top 4 by winning their remaining games under Unai Emery in his first season in charge of the club.

Arsenal is also in the quarterfinals of the Europa League and looks like serious contenders to go on and win the European competition. The Gunners hold a 2-0 advantage over Napoli in the first leg of the quarter-final tie before they visit Naples this coming Thursday night to try and make it to the next stage.

One player who has grown in stature this season has been Alex Iwobi and the Nigerian highlighted the difference between this and last campaign, “There is a lot more fight in us this season. There is a lot more intensity. So even though it’s been up and down this season, there are a lot more pros than maybe the previous one.”
