Arsenal have cooled their long-term interest in talented Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans and the Gunners will not make a move to acquire the Belgian player during this transfer window.
The brilliant Belgian central midfielder has been linked with a move to the Gunners for quite some time now, but a transfer has never actually taken place between the two clubs.
Tielemans is generally overlooked despite being one of the most gifted midfielders currently playing the game. He is not given the recognition that is due to him, despite the fact that he has been quietly dropping masterclasses for the Foxes.
Arsenal cannot hope for a better upgrade to Granit Xhaka than Tielemans. He is the ideal candidate to take on the post. He is capable of doing all of the same skills as the Swiss midfielder, but much more so.
Despite how well Xhaka has played this year, there remains a limit to his potential. There is a limit to how much the brilliant midfielder can provide for Arsenal, and the club may want to upgrade him come next summer.
However, recent reports suggest that despite the fact that Arsenal having a strong interest in acquiring Youri Tielemans in the summer, the club is highly unlikely to make a move during the current transfer window to do so.
The Gunners’ interest in the Belgian central midfielder has consequently waned as a result. It is now unknown when they will reconsider their interest in him or whether or not they will actually end up signing him.
