Arsenal show ‘lovely gesture’ towards Indian Football Team

Last night Indian senior team qualified for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup whipping Macau 4-1 at Bangalore. The early goal from Rowllin Borges before Macau boy Nicholas Tarrao equalise the score. Skipper Sunil Chhetri’s 60th minute goal gave Indian Football Team a lead. Though the key moment of the game came when  Jeje Lalpekhlua scored in 90th minute and gave his side a memorable victory. Thanks to goal from Macau midfielder Lam Ka Seng (own goal).

As India have qualified for Asia Cup the final two fixtures against Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan only a formality for #TheBlues.

This will be India’s fourth appearance in Asian Cup whose best run came as ‘runners-up’ for the third edition of the competition at Israel.

Madness!! The Indian Fans gone crazy and several well-wishes posts flooded social media following India’s victory.

Social Media certainly went crazy after the victory, but amongst the crowd of posts one was from English giants Arsenal, who uploaded a picture of Indian coach Stephen Constantine holding an Arsenal jersey with a ‘applauding message’ authored at the back of the shirt with number ‘2019’. (India qualified for Asia Cup 2019)

Stephen Constantine is a life long Arsenal fan, and is helping India ‘grow’ football.

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger also praised Stephen Constantine’s work as India’s manager.

Stephen Constantine met Arsene Wenger while doing his Pro Licence and Wenger was filled with appreciation towards the British man.

“I know all about you. If you’d done in Europe what you’ve done in Asia, you’d be coaching in the Champions League by now.”

Post from Arsenal on Facebook touched hearts in India, people thanked the Gunners for their respect towards Indian Football Team.

Indian manager Stephen Constantine has coached Championship side Millwall FC and worked for Bournemouth in England.

The ‘lovely’ gesture from Arsenal will boost confidence and motivate Indian players, as they will look to prove themselves and emerge as ‘Asian Giants’ after Asia Cup 2019.
