Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has reportedly been offered to AC Milan for free as he approaches the end of his contract. The French forward is in the final year of his contract with Arsenal and has struggled for regular football.

Lacazette has made just two Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season. He was brought on as a substitute in the 5-0 defeat against Man City and in the 0-0 draw against Brighton.

The 30-year-old also didn’t start in the two EFL games this season and was brought on from the bench instead. With Lacazette now in the final few months of his deal at Arsenal, it’s unlikely that he will extend his stay at the North London club.

Arsenal have struggled with handling player contracts before in the past. The club will now have to decide whether they allow Lacazette to leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 or sell him in January to raise funds.

According to reports from Calciomercato, Serie A giants AC Milan are interested in signing Alexandre Lacazette. The Rossoneri have been struggling for goals this season and with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s constant injury woes, Milan are on the hunt for a striker.

Reports also claim that Arsenal are willing to let Lacazette leave the club for free in January before his transfer expires. However, AC Milan or any club interested in signing Lacazette will have to pay his £150,000-a-week wages.

Alexandre Lacazette has proved himself as a goalscorer at Arsenal but the lack of opportunities will surely mean that he won’t get a contract extension.

The player will also be allowed to speak to other clubs from January onwards. LaLiga outfit Sevilla are also linked with signing Lacazette. The Spanish outfit view him as a potential replacement for frontman Youssef En-Nesyri. Some reports claim that Arsenal and Sevilla could also swap the two strikers in January.

Although the ideal option would be to allow Lacazette to leave in January, Arsenal will have to convince potential buyers to pay for the player’s wages.

Lacazette joined Arsenal in 2017 from Lyon and has scored a total of 50 Premier League goals in 129 appearances for the club. He is an FA Cup winner with Arsenal as well.
