Arsenal vs PSG – Preview | International Champions Cup

Unai Emery’s Arsenal will face his former club Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, as the Gunners will look to continue their preparations for the upcoming season.

Arsenal played impressively in Emery’s ‘first big test’ against Atletico Madrid on Thursday, drawing 1-1 before losing on the penalties.

Emery will have some selection headache after impressive performances by Matteo Guendouzi, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson.

Emile Smith Rowe is expected to be back again after missing out on training due to a minor bruise. Arsenal potentially have their full squad available with only Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka and Danny Welbeck absent from the squad due to extended due to participation in later stages of the World Cup.

Mesut Ozil, Mohamed Elneny and Alex Iwobi joined up with the squad in Singapore following World Cup duty last week and are expected to play some role off the bench tomorrow.

For PSG coach Thomas Tuchel side, France’s Kylian Mbappe and Brazil duo Neymar and Thiago Silva, will be unavailable for the clash.  Julian Draxler, Kevin Trapp and Giovani lo Celso are expected to play some role against the Premier League champions.

“I remain grateful to PSG. I had a good experience there and it was wonderful for my career and now I will play against them tomorrow, against a big club with great players,” Emery told reporters at the Singapore National Stadium on Friday.

“Not only is it another step in our preparations for next season but also a chance for me to meet many friends I worked with there.”
