Arsenal vs Wolves: Preview | Premier League 2020/21

Arsenal_Wolves_Preview

Arsenal host Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday, having won just one of their previous five league fixtures.

Arsenal notched an impressive 3-0 win over Molde in mid-week, but have been struggling to carry over that momentum into the league, where they are stuck in 13th place.

Attack has been a massive concern for Arteta’s side, who are yet to hit double figures in goals scored in the league having played nine games so far. The attackers have been lacking service leading to a toothless attack, from an otherwise solid midfield that lacks creativity.

Nuno’s side have had a similar start to the season, and are currently one point above the Gunners in 10th place. Wolves have an excellent defensive record so far, with only Tottenham Hotspur letting in fewer goals. They haven’t been yet able to strike a balance between defence and attack, and are yet to even score twice in a single game in the league so far.

When and Where?

Team News

Nicolas Pepe will serve the first of his three match suspension following the red card he picked up in the last league game after headbutting Leeds player Ezgjan Alioski.

The Gunners will be sweating on the fitness of Bukayo Saka and Thomas Partey as Saka hobbled off the pitch against Leeds with a dead leg while Partey is still recovering from a thigh strain.

Mohamed Elneny and Sead Kolasinac are both expected to be back in contention after recovering from COVID-19.

Wolves will be boosted by the return of captain Conor Coady back into the squad after the Englishman completed his period of self-isolation. Moroccan international Roman Saiss tested positive for the coronavirus while Jonny Castro picked up a knee injury, meaning both are to be sidelined for this game.

Predicted Lineup

Arsenal (4-2-3-1):

Wolverhampton Wanderers (3-4-3):
