The Arsenal faithful will be glad to hear the fact that Pierre Emerick Aubameyang wants to become a legend at North London.
The Gabonese forward arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Borussia Dortmund back in 2018 and has become an instant favorite with the Gunners. The prolific goalscorer has adapted to life in the Premier League with relative ease and gratitude.
Aubameyang was extremely impressive once again this season for Arsenal as he netted 22 goals in the Premier League, sharing the Golden Boot honor with Liverpool duo of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. The 29-year-old Arsenal striker also scored eight goals in the Europa League to help his side reach the final of the continental competition.
Having scored an astonishing 41 goals in 64 appearances across all competitions in one and a half season with Arsenal, Aubameyang has stated that he wants to leave the club with a legendary status when he departs. But that will not be anytime soon.
Aubameyang reached his goalscoring landmark quicker than Arsenal great Thierry Henry and spoke to RMC Sport about his ambitions with the North London club. He said, “It was challenging for me to come to Arsenal and impose myself, Now I want my name to become a legend there.”
The Gunners will now face a much anticipated Europa League final against their local London rivals Chelsea in Baku on May 26th and Aubameyang will undoubtedly look to make a mark on the big stage. A win in the Europa League final would mean that Arsenal will automatically qualify for the Champions League next season.
