Cristian Pavon? No, We’ve got Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Arsenal have struggled to find stability up ahead on the flanks so far this season and Unai Emery may turn up to an option from outside of club in January.

This Arsenal side need quality wingers and they are just proving it with their display so far in the opening four Premier League matches this season.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not the frisky type of winger Arsenal need and talking about Alex Iwobi, he still shows signs of his abilities with the ball yet there is still a lot to work on for the Nigerian.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has taken his place on the left as of now with Mesut Ozil/Henrikh Mkhitaryan playing on the right.

Matches against Manchester City and Chelsea showed Gunners need someone more efficient on the flanks. Yes, they did look solid playing wide but still its time for likes of Alex Iwobi to don the jersey on regular basis for the first team.

The Gunners were linked with several top wingers in the summer transfer window including Leon Bailey, Kingsley Coman and Cristian Pavon.

To surprise of many, Unai Emery did not opt to bring in a winger in the summer but looks like he will make some move in January.

Cristian Pavon is highly linked to Arsenal lately and this just takes his long Arsenal link further down to winter.

The twenty-two-year old Argentine winger Cristian Pavon has impressed so far for Boca Juniors. Pavon has tally of 6 goals and 11 assists for Boca Juniors last season in Argentine Primera Division. Pavon was selected in the World Cup squad of Argentina National side baking his commendable performance for his club.

Pavon can operate from both the wings – though he is comfortable playing on the right side. Pavon has proved he is a beast playing wide – cutting in and don the play making responsibility. But that is what Henrikh Mkhitaryan does, ain’t it?

Mkhitaryan is a beast going forward and likes to cut in and make play. Why bring someone excess to the needs when you won’t get anything different than what you already got.

Yes, Cristian Pavon may be one the rising talents but Gunners don’t need him as the only thing Pavon assures is, Henrikh Mkhitaryan being demoted to bench. However, I think that it’s just not fair.

Ever since joining the Premier League, Mkhitaryan has been neglected as a player. He was named the Bundesliga Player of the season just couple of years ago with an outrageous tally of 11 goals and 15 assists in just 28 starts, then joined the Premier League only to be another Mourinho’s stash away player.

He scored 10 goals despite of limited play time backed by limited play. Last season he had a goal and five assists in very little time with Manchester United, before joining Arsenal, cementing a starting role, and becoming one of our best player at the end of the season.

At his best, Mkhitaryan is borderline world class.

If Mkhitaryan can cement a true starting role next season, he can link with the strikers brilliantly and prove his world class talent, crossing and all around brilliance.

On the other hand, if he is already likely to be benched, Why would we sign Cristian Pavon as well? Are we just going to send Mkhitaryan down the gutter like Manchester United did?

He should have a major role in our side, and I like Cristian Pavon but unless he is willing to be a rotation player who doesn’t start often, we shouldn’t sign him. Stop sleeping on Mkhitaryan.
