Gabriel Jesus can help persuade Lucas Paqueta to join Arsenal

Lucas-Paqueta-Arsenal-Transfer

You cannot figure out the details of transfer ongoings at Arsenal as Edu & Mikel loves to keep things quiet – at least as much as they can. So we have to rely on rumours unenlightened over how accurate they are. One of those names that are potentially linked with a move to the Emirates is Lucas Paqueta.

Having concluded the Oleksandr Zinchenko deal, Lucas Paqueta seems like a logical move, as the former will bring appealing technicality to N5 while the Brazilian is a runner who likes to cause havoc in the final third. It does make sense to go for runners having secured Zinchenko.

Lucas was an integral part of Olympique Lyon’s squad last season, having scored eleven goals and laying off a further seven in 43 appearances (all competitions). But with Paqueta wanting a future away from Lyon and the club’s board agreeing to let into his demands – he can make a move to the Premier League this summer.

According to UOL Esporte, there have been talks between both the clubs over a potential transfer with Lyon expecting a fee of around £50m for Paqueta.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke is of the opinion that Gabriel Jesus could help Arsenal persuade Lucas Paqueta to join the men in Reds and Whites. The duo already linking up on International camps alongside Arsenal’s other Brazilian contingent can help the Gunners lure Paqueta to move to the Emirates.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “Obviously there is a connection there with other Brazilians at the club, the likes of Jesus, Martinelli, and Gabriel at the back as well, so I’m sure they’d maybe help persuade Paqueta to make the move to Arsenal. And the chance to go to London, I think, is a big factor for a lot of these South American players.”

Arsenal does have some sort of Brazilian revolution going on at London Colney, and another marquee addition will definitely excite the fans going into next season. Though, will it be Lucas Paqueta? or maybe, Youri Tielemans? What do you think?
