Is Giroud too good for Arsenal bench?

Olivier-Giroud

Arsenal had suffered a poor defeat against Watford in the Premier League Match previous weekend. Many criticisms are coming from different corners towards Wenger and Co. Arsene Wenger’s strategy in that match was also under question mark. Wenger did not give Olivier Giroud the chance in starting line up like most of the matches of this season. Giroud came from the bench as the substitute of Lacazette at 68th minute of the match and the player could not mark an impact in that game with that much less game time.

Former English player and football pundit Ian Wright slammed the decision Arsene Wenger of benching Giroud in the match against Watford.

He twitted,
“I wonder if the boss will play Lacazette and Giroud together one day. “

Giroud is not also happy with his situation in Arsenal also. He was not in the starting line up for Arsenal in few matches last season. The incoming of Lacazette from Lyon this season has taken his playing condition in Arsenal to a worse level.Giroud’s situation at Arsenal has not changed from last season and he now finds himself behind Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez in the pecking order.

Giroud recently said he almost left the Emirates for Everton last summer but stayed with the Gunners to continue his career.
“I had the opportunity to leave [Arsenal],” said Giroud. “I was very close to another English club, Everton. But I think I made the best choice”.

The French International is now also on the radar of Inter Milan and Juventus for the next summer transfer window. Juve and Inter believe his newfound role in the team could make it easier to tempt him away from the Emirates, according to CalcioMercato. Inter Milan have only one recognized striker Icardi in their squad and next season they need a partner of him if they qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. On the other hand Mario Mandzukic will probably leave Juventus next season. So Olivier Giroud can surely be a replacement for him in Juventus.

Olivier Giroud’s stunning scorpion-kick goal against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day has been named as one of three strikes nominated for the annual Puskas Award.

The player of such talent should not be wasted in the bench and this could lead to the departure of the French International to some other club. Wenger must be concerned with this matter and he should start Olivier Giroud in all the Premier League matches to get back on winning terms.
