One of the two January signing’s of Arsenal, Pablo Mari made his debut in the Gunners jersey against Chelsea under-23 squad.
In the latest under-23 game that Arsenal lost 2-1, supporters got a glimpse of what they are going to see for a long time from now. The centre-back featured alongside Rob Holding on Monday.
Talking about the debut Trae Coyle reacted in the following manner:
“We’ve played with Rob a lot of times and he’s always been good with us,” he told the club’s official website.
“Obviously he has so much ability and I was very impressed with Pablo as well. Playing with those two was definitely a big help today.”
Coyle suggested that Mari’s game was a good bow and to give him a game time at under-23’s was a smart move by Arteta’s squad. Coyle was pretty impressed with the Brazilian who accompanied his compatriot Holding pretty well.
Though Mari was good in his debut, he faces a tough battle for the spot. Mustafi has found his rhythm and has been brilliant in the last few fixtures with David Luiz getting his groove back too.
Mari’s time will surely arrive but not so soon. The centre-back will have to be a little more patient before he gets gametime in the senior squad. He surely will have to wait a little longer than he would have expected.
