Lacazette admits low confidence but hopes Arsenal bounce back after break

Alexandre-Lacazette-Arsenal

There are frustrations around the Emirates, among fans, among players and to be honest – I don’t know about the gaffer. I’m seriously done backing him up, especially after the way he has presented himself in the last couple of weeks.

But what matters is, whether the players still back Unai.

Without a win in last five Premier League fixtures now and just one in last seven games in all competitions, you seriously start to think about a potential change in management.

And Alexandre Lacazette has admitted that the squad miss confidence and badly needs international break, hopefully coming back stronger after a fortnight of no club football.

Striker Lacazette said: “We miss confidence and we need the international break. I hope we are going to come back well. We need to work more than we do now to find confidence.

“We are very disappointed, we had chances in the first half [against Leicester]. We couldn’t score and you need to take your chances in this type of game.

“We have to work again and keep working everyday. But I think we didn’t play so bad, we just missed our chances in the first half.”

Defeat against Leicester leaves Unai Emery’s men below newly promoted Sheffield United and well off in the Champions League qualification race.

Lacazette added, “We want to be top four of course.

“Now we are nine points behind Chelsea and Leicester and it is going to be hard but everything is possible in football.

“We still have time until the end of the season. We are going to work to come back.”
