Lucas Perez now returns to Emirates and is determined to prove his worth as Arsenal begin a new Unai Emery’s era.

After missing out on the likes of Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain, Arsene Wenger opted for Lucas Perez. Lucas Perez was brought to Arsenal after netting 17 goals for Deportivo La Coruna.

The Spainard performed relatively well in his first season with the Gunners, but was never really given an opportunity week-in-week-out. He was generally preferred for cup games and other low lighted fixtures throughout the season. He featured as Arsenal’s third choice striker behind Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.

But with the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette following summer, Perez was subsequently sent on loan to his former club Deportivo La Coruna.

Many believe Lucas was not given enough chances at Arsenal after he was loaned out last campaign. But arrival of Unai Emery provides Lucas Perez a chance to rejuvenate his Arsenal career.

Perez is hardworking lad who possesses great pace and will suit Emery style of play.

Lucas Perez’s agency have issued a statement regarding his future at Arsenal: “He is a player of Arsenal and his desire is to succeed there”, Protio Sport said.

Despite continuing with training under Unai Emery, Lucas Perez is highly linked to a move away from the Gunners with Lazio emerging as favorites to secure his signatures. Lazio face competition from number of English sides like Fulham and Newcastle United.

Though due to Europa League participation there will be plenty of chances for Perez in the first half of the season, and he will just have to grab his opportunities.
