Arsenal are close to complete their second signing in the summer transfer window as the Gunners is closing on a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos from under rivals Tottenham’s noses.
The Spanish outlet Marca claims, Arsenal are set to complete a season-long loan deal for Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos, which will not include a purchase option. Having made an offer, Unai Emery’s side are now awaiting for a final decision from Los Blancos.
Only 22, Ceballos has attracted significant interest from Premier League clubs this summer, with Spurs looked like to be his most likely destination. But with the gap left by Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal are pushing to get deal done.
Ceballos is currently on holiday after winning the European Under-21 tournament and is due to return on July 22. The midfielder was one of Spain’s star performers but he is simply not in Zidane’s plans and the club are looking to offload the Spaniard but not on permanent basis. However, a loan move fits perfectly with the Gunners’ current financial position, hence the Ceballos move suits them perfectly.
Arsenal would have to pay a loan fee to take him for the season, with 100 percent of Ceballos’ wages – which are thought to be around £2.7m ($3.3m) a year.
With Ceballos, Arsenal find the perfect player to boost their chances for next season. As for Ceballos, it would be an excellent chance to prove his worth to Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid.
