Rob Holding deserves England call-up

England National team coach Gareth Southgate will be leading his squad in a friendly against USA later this month followed by UEFA Nations League fixture against Croatia.

Couple of players will be hoping to make the squad, with England Boss has been open to giving caps to youth. One man who is so far ignored is Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding.

The Arsenal man has made a case under Unai Emery. He has played in Arsenal’s last six Premier League games with his last coming against Liverpool at the weekend. The young-man looked sharped and focused as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino failed multiple-time to past Holding.

Holding had been part of Southgate’s under-21 setup, and will certainly feel he deserves a call-up to the national team ahead of either of Butnley’s James Tarkowski or Brighton’s Lewis Dunk.

It will be no surprise, if Holding is named in the national squad, in face it would be a huge testament of his improvement under Unai Emery at Arsenal.

Another of Arsenal player, Reiss Nelson will be expected to make the squad as he continues his impressive run in the Bundesliga. Though it is pretty early to call Nelson up but Jadon Sancho can just be the start to get these youngsters some regular minutes under the Three Lions and start a process for the future.
