Sympathy is not an option for Danny Welbeck

Danny Welback- A trick up the sleeve or a chip on the shoulder?

The injury prone Englishman is subjected to recover by the end of this summer, the same time his tenure with the Gunners expires. The forward who has been playing since 2014 for Arsenal has already made 126 appearances improving consistently but not so in terms of his health.

Unai Emery may want to sign new contract for Danny Welback but is he worth sympathy sizing? Nah, I don’t think so. The likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have been way beyond good playing together, leaving no chance for Emery to complain or make them warm the bench.

The aforementioned pair, however, need a fine cover and with the versatility that Welback provides, he may force the Spaniard boss to sign him. The explosiveness and potency may be absent in Welback but is capable enough to provide valuable application off the ball.

Unai Emery has suggested of tying the 28-year-old with Arsenal.

He said, “Welbeck is progressing very well. He is working and starting to touch the ball and working on the pitch. His progress with such a big injury is going very well.”

“It’s difficult for him to play matches this season but he is progressing very well and maybe the doctor will tell us he can come train with us in the last weeks of this season.”

“After, his individual thing is to speak with the club about his future.”

Former Manchester United man Welback is already conjectured with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray but considering that Arsenal don’t have any experienced Englishman up front which makes a point to ponder for Arsenal scout in lieu of making Welback stay.

With the exit of Jack Wilshere this season to West Ham and Calum Chambers on loan at Fulham makes Danny Welback a consideration with no English player in the squad. But does that make you keep a player in your squad knowing that he would be injured more often than not. No, right!
