LaLiga outfit Sevilla have been given a boost in their pursuit of signing Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal in January. The French star is wanted by a number of European clubs across the continent including Atletico Madrid.

There is also interest from Italian clubs Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan, who are eyeing a potential move for Lacazette. In face, Lacazette was also linked with a return to France, after having spent seven years with the Lyon senior team.

However, according to reports, Sevilla are favourites to land Lacazette at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium as Arsenal also plan to conduct some business with the Sevillistas.

Reports from La Razon state that Sevilla have an advantage in signing Lacazette courtesy of Arsenal’s interest in their forward Youssef En Nesyri. Lacazette has been given opportunities few and far between this season.

It is believed that Arsenal view En Nesyri as a replacement for Lacazette. En Neysri is 24 years of age and as Arteta is looking to build a team by grooming young players, the Moroccan should fit in perfectly at the North London club.

The star forward has established himself as a regular for Sevilla since joining the club last year. He also was part of the Sevilla team that won the Europa League in 2020. His finishing ability and sharpness in front of goal has also drawn attraction from a number of clubs across Europe.

Meanwhile, Lacazette has made just three Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season, all coming from the bench. He did, however, manage to score the crucial last-gasp equalizer in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Nevertheless, it seems as if Arsenal are open to letting Lacazette leave in the January transfer window. The striker’s current deal with Arsenal expires in the summer and it’s unlikely that the club will offer him a new deal.

Lacazette joined Arsenal in 2017 from Lyon in a deal worth £47.5 million. In total, he has made 131 appearances for the Gunners in the Premier League, scoring 51 goals and notching up 18 assists as well. He also won the FA Cup with Arsenal in 2020.

Now, it remains to see whether Arsenal and Sevilla will be open to exchange their respective forwards in the January transfer window.
