If Unai Emery clinches Alexis Claude-Maurice for a €7 million, it would be a brilliant buy.
There are reports that Arsenal have already made a deal worth €7 million for former team mate and friend of Matteo Guendouzi but was subsequently declined by FC Lorient, where Alexis presently plays. The player, however, is very keen to make a move to Premier League and it may be no surprise to see him donning the Emirates.
Currently, a player of French second division many of us don’t know what he does or what he plays, for which we can be excused. Luckily for us though, we had FC Lorient expert Lucas Le Texier To guide us through.
“He can play in attacking midfield or out wide,” Le Texier told reporters . “He is a very technical player. One of his greatest qualities is his ball control, where he always manages to make great touches.”
“It’s very hard to take the ball from him. His main progression is the timing of his passes and their choice. He is a rather fast player but he is not the type who will do 30-40 meters with big acceleration.”
“He prefers to have the ball between the lines and then he has speed with his next move or execution. His finishing is very good, many of his goals come from outside the box. He puts a trajectory through his hit & it’s very special, curved, gentle strikes but powerful ones too.”
Claude, could not have been described better. For a few that may demand stats, Claude had scored 14 goals this season playing as a midfielder and sometimes as a winger for Lorient.
Many would say, we have a lot of midfield traffic already but think again guys, a Guendouzi like player that too for only €7 million would b such a smart buy both for Emery and future managers of Arsenal to come, if that happens.
