Time for Kieran Tierney to make his Premier League debut?

It took some time for Kieran Tierney to get his strides going since his move to Arsenal, a recovery from hernia operation and some time rehabilitating was essential before he made his debut in the Red and Whites.

Since his return from injury, Kieran has only featured in the cup competitions and is eased back from injury.

Many expected Tierney to start against Manchester United but Emery opted to leave him out which was followed by a request to Scotland FA to leave Kieran out of their International fixtures against Russia and San Marino.

Clarke respected Unai’s request and said: “Arsenal have indicated to us that they’d prefer us not to select him at this moment in time because he’d only played 70-odd minutes of football.

“You have to respect the club’s decision on that. I’d like to get Kieran in the squad and have him as part of the group but at this moment in time it’s more important that he gets minutes on the pitch and gets himself back to full speed.”

But now the Scot is fully fit for making his Premier League bow.

Emery used the international break to give some valuable minutes to returning players in a behind-the-doors friendly against Reading where Tierney featured alongside the likes of Mesut Ozil, Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin.

Arsenal travel to Bramall Lane on Monday Night and it could also be the day Kieran Tierney makes his Premier League debut.
