It’s time for Europa league, as Unai Emery and his Arsenal begin their quest for European glory this Thursday.

Arsenal will face Vorskla at the Emirates to kick start their Europa league campaign.

One of the talking points leading to the match will be involvement of Bernd Leno. Bernd Leno has been warming the bench since his arrival at North London, with first choice Petr Cech putting in some commendable performances to retain his place in the eleven.

Leno was expected to draft in as first choice as soon as he arrived at Arsenal, but Unai Emery has backed veteran Petr Cech despite of some high profile errors last season.

Petr Cech has also come under a lot of criticism this season due to his struggle playing ball out from the back. Unai Emery wants to implement a style where ball is played out to defenders from the back which would put goalkeeper in pressure on the feet and Petr Cech has shown he cannot deal with this pressure.

On the other hand, Bernd Leno is known for his calmness on the ball and is also good at his feet. Unai Emery suggested that Leno could be set to be named in the starting eleven on Thursday when Emirates host the Ukrainian opposition.

“Yes, normally we are going to change and use a lot of players for different competitions,” Unai Emery said after the 2-1 win at Newcastle.

“But I am only thinking about the best performance for Thursday. Every competition for me I have respect for and want to do the best for.

“Normally I will use a different keeper for this competition, but I’m thinking about the best performance.”
