Unai Emery impresses on first day as Arsenal manager

After lots of speculations, Arsenal finally decided to appoint Unai Emery as the new manager of their side. The official confirmation have already been made.

The former Paris-Saint Germain manager sounded very much excited about his new job at Arsenal FC. The new Arsenal boss has expressed his desire to take the Gunners again back at the top in the next season.

In his first press conference, Unai Emery was very much pleasing for the Arsenal fans as he shared his vision for the next season with Arsenal.

About getting success in the next season Emery told that, “Success next season would be developing, but how? By battling for every title.”

“It’s very important for the club, after two years outside the Champions League, to work to be the best team in the Premier League and also in the world”

He expressed his desire to work as a team in the upcoming future for the Gunners.

“We want to work on this club together,” he added. “I know my ambition and my passion and to know how I want to grow up with Arsenal.

“All the conversations I have had with the club shows we share the same vision for the club.”

Emery certainly wish to see the Gunners among the European Elite clubs from the next season. When Unai Emery was questioned about the new recruitment of the players, he told :

“I believe we can grow with the players we have.

“The objective is to work hard together and with these talented players.”

Unai Emery also showed his immense respect to the former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

“I want to say thank you Arsene Wenger for your legacy,”

“For all the coaches in the world, he is a reference. We learned, I learned from him all the things in football.

“It’s a big challenge for me, but I have worked also in other projects, big projects. For me, I am proud to be here and to work after Arsene Wenger.”

Arsenal’s Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis told that they had taken 8 interviews from different managers in the World football for this job and had found Unai Emery to be the best man to take the charge of Arsenal.

“All eight took part in extensive interviews and none of them withdrew from the process,” said the chief executive, who added that the job was the most attractive in world football.

“We were in a fortunate position to name our first choice.

“Our first interview was on 25 April and our last was on the 15 May. A formal recommendation to the board was supported by a 100-page dossier with a great degree of background information.

“All of the board members were energised and enthused by our decision.”

“He was extraordinarily well prepared with a knowledge of Arsenal and an analysis of all of our players, their qualities and how he can help them develop.

“The thing that distinguished him above all that was the chemistry between us and the feeling for football in the room.

“He has a feeling and competitive energy and it is this passion, love for football and will to win that made us feel it as exactly right for Arsenal.”, Gazidis said.

The majority stakeholder of Arsenal, Stan Kroenke is very much impressed with the philosophy of Unai Emery.

‘We’re delighted to welcome Unai to Arsenal,’ Kroenke told the club’s official website.

‘He’s a proven winner. We’re confident that he is the right person for the job and that he will work to deliver the triumphs our fans, staff and everyone who cares about Arsenal want.
