What Olivier Giroud brings to Chelsea

Chelsea announced signing of Arsenal ace Olivier Giroud for reported £18 million on deadline day. Many of the Chelsea supporters will be overwhelmed with the signing of French ace after being linked to many underwhelming names throughout the winter.

Antonio Conte made it clear, that he is in a need of a ‘target man’ and Olivier Giroud is the best reinforcement he could get. Giroud has proven himself with Arsenal for last six years and established himself as one of the best target man in England.

Giroud is an absolute beast when it comes to heading the ball past goalkeepers. Its one of his signature moves. Giroud will provide Chelsea quality in the air, though, Morata can head balls too but Giroud is actually more physical and better in the air so we can expect headed goals more from the French man.

Olivier Giroud has score 105 goals for Arsenal in 253 appearances in all competitions. But Giroud brings more than getting the ball past net…

With quality of Eden Hazard and Pedro on the flanks, the hold up play of Giroud would bring more of some stability to make spaces in the third half and ability to hold the ball around oppositions penalty area pressuring them to make space.

One touch play of Giroud, is as better as it can get – so we can expect some ‘beauties‘ with combination of Hazard and Giroud.

Olivier could help create chances and stabilise Chelsea’s play. He is an bargain in £18 million, and can give Chelsea ‘new‘ attacking look.
