Arsenal have a history of producing and enriching the technically adapted playmakers, mostly of Spanish origin. Be it Cesc Fabregas, Mikel Arteta or Santi Cazorla, all have begin their golden run playing at London. While last of many Spanish midfielders coming from the city of Barcelona was Cesc Fabregas, Unai Emery and his team are in lieu of signing a young 25-year old Barcelona midfielder, Denis Suarez.

Similar to the Spanish playmakers of present generation, Suarez is versatile in positions while being tactical adaptable at the same time. The managers can deploy him in any vacant position but his best comes out while playing out wide. “He was playing as a left or right winger for Sevilla when he was with me,’ Emery said.

The Spaniard’s desire to sign a wide midfielder has grown speculations for Suarez joining the club this season at a reported fee of £15million. “Also a winger, right or left, one player can help us in this position.” This statement of Emery made it evident that Suarez will be on top of Arsenal’s winter transfer window.

A player of such versatility would fit in every forward position, but where would Emery deploy him and how would he use him has to be given a thought. With age of only 25 and a potential improvement ahead, Suarez is a best buy for only £14 million. And having already played under Emery is an add-on for Suarez to his great physical attributes and also dynamic qualities. He also possesses an appropriate speed that a midfielder should which are accompanied with skills.

SKY SPORTS man Pete Hall described Denis Suarez as someone who would perfectly fit in under Unai Emery.

“He can play anywhere across the midfield, he can play wing-backs, but he’s very much a jack of all trades. He’s like a 7 and a half out of 10 kind of player.

“If he does come to Arsenal, fans can’t expect him to take games by the scruff of the neck, or inspire them to some amazing victories and amazing goals.

“He’ll play really well, and he can fill in so many gaps. That’s why Emery likes him because he’s still tweaking his system a little bit and he likes to play wing-backs and Suarez is quite good as a wing-back.

“He’s played there for Barcelona quite a lot, Valverde’s liked him in that position and he can also play in midfield as well so he’s a great player to have at a busy time of the season when there’s a lot of games because he can play literally everywhere.”

The player’s versatility provides Emery with plenty positions to deploy him. Suarez can play as a deep-lying playmaker who increases the tempo of attack or even as a central-midfielder with excellent close control. His sudden acceleration burst with the ball makes him an interesting prospect. And with Ozil and Ramsey paving way in the near future, Denis Suarez could set the pace up for his place.

Also, his abilities to play out wide make’s him capable enough to adept the left-wing, presently mastered by Alex Iwobi. Though Arsenal also seem in talks with Yannick Carrsco in bid to landing him back in Europe after his move to China last summer.

Denis Suarez seems perfect candidate for Emery’s preferred 4-2-3-1 position, Suarez can definitely fit in his former coach’s present team.
