Arsenal loanee William Saliba is in line to make his return from injury after missing two months of action, as is in Saint-Etienne’s squad ahead of their match against Nimes on Sunday.

Back in August, Etienne’s manager confirmed that the Frenchman had undergone an surgery after due consultation with Arsenal’s medical team and will miss upto around six weeks.

And about couple of weeks back, Saliba returned to Arsenal’s London Colney as part of his rehabilitation process and now looks to make his return.

According to Chloe Gallot of Ultimo Die, who has followed the teen closely during his period on the sidelines, says that William Saliba will be included in the 18-man-squad for St. Etienne’s game at Nimes tomorrow.

The teen prospect, who is highly regarded in France after his breakthrough campaign last year is yet to feature this season – infact he hasn’t played since 18th May, in a win over Nice.

He was out with a groin problem called ‘pubalgia’, and could have faced an extended period on the sidelines.

“Traditional surgery for pubalgia involves making a cut near the groin and fixing the damaged tissue,” as per an article on healthline.com.

“Recovery takes about 6 to 12 weeks.

“Another surgical procedure called laparoscopy is becoming a common way to both diagnose and treat groin injuries. This involves inserting a thin tube with a tiny camera, called a laparoscope, into your groin to give your surgeon a better view of the damaged tissue. Small instruments can be inserted through another nearby tube to perform the actual surgery.

“Recovering from laparoscopy only takes about a week, but you may need to avoid vigorous activity for three to four weeks.

“You’ll likely be able to return home the same day after having either traditional or laparoscopic surgery. Your doctor may also suggest doing physical therapy after surgery to rebuild your abdominal strength.”
