Rob Holding made his return from the injury kept him on sidelines for over nine months, with the English centre-half scoring in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Rob Holding ruptured his ACL against Manchester United last December, having been in impressive from prior to his injury and about nailing down his place in the first team alongside Sokratis – He was picked to lined up in the Emirates tunnel against Forest in the Carabao Cup and doubled Arsenal’s lead in the 71st minute with a towering header, which came just seconds after been given the armband when Mesut Ozil was subbed off.

The goal left Nottingham’s defence quite open as Arsenal went on to score another three in no time, and  manager Unai Emery hailed his return as ‘perfect’ while former teammate and now Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey was thrilled to see old teammate Rob Holding make his return from injury.

‘Bobby… so good to see you back and getting on the score sheet. Love it skip,’ wrote Juventus’ number 8 on Instagram.

Another of former Arsenal man in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also sent him a message on Instagram, , writing ‘Love it Bob’ after his return.

Rob is expected to compete straight away for his place in the eleven applying pressure on likes of David Luiz, Sokratis and Calum Chambers for a place in the Arsenal back-line (who have struggled defensively this campaign).

Arsenal manager Unai Emery was also in full praise for the centre-back,”It is perfect to have more options at centre back after his spirit, his positive minutes. Every day in training he helps us to have more performances like a team.

“He needed to take minutes and confidence. Tonight, the first match after playing with the Under-23s, was a perfect match. He was a little tired at the end, but he scored and he’s happy tonight. We’re happy with him.”
