Arsenal favorites over Chelsea in Europa League finals after Blues’ struggle in Semis

After Chelsea’s struggling victory over the German opponents in semi-finals of Europa League, Arsenal are held favourites to win the Continental cup.

Chelsea is a 5/7 favorite to lift the Europa League trophy in Azerbaijan in two weeks’ time, while Arsenal is at 11/10 according to betting sites reviewed on MyTopSportsbooks. The teams split their two EPL games this year, with each holding serve in their home stadium. Both also struggled away in the EPL play, with Chelsea recording a -3 goal difference and Arsenal a -4.

But based on recent form, the value is on the Gunners in Baku. Arsenal’s convincing ouster of Valencia (7-3 on aggregate) in the Europa semifinals included a thorough 4-2 drubbing in Spain. Chelsea, meanwhile, was held to a 1-1 draw by Eintracht in Germany and is 1-1-3 in its last five away matches in the Premier League.

We are sure of an English winner of London but which side of London will be set with joy is yet to be decided.

The Blues have already qualified for the Champions League courtesy of finishing in the top 4 of Premier League. The Blues were two clear of Arsenal at the end of Game week 38 finishing with 72 points thus giving themselves an upper hand going into the finals.

CHELSEA EDGE

They have experienced defenders standing in front of a might keeper, world’s best defensive midfielder in the form of Kante who can score some screamers, the playmaker in Jorginho and traditional forwards, Hazard and Giroud who is Chelsea’s top scorer. They cannot be called ultimate favourites but yes they do have an edge over us.

Maurizio Sarri who had a rather delightful start to his Premier League career which was followed by a series of nightmares will want to win his first silverware with Chelsea and keep his stay at London longer. Unai Emery on the other hand, the Champion of Europa League would want to encrypt his name yet again in the history.
