Arsenal hopeful over swift Leandro Trossard injury return after decisive action

Arsenal-squad-2023

Arsenal fans can breathe a sigh of relief as it appears that Leandro Trossard’s injury against Bournemouth is not as serious as first feared.

The Belgian forward was forced off in the first half of Arsenal’s 3-2 comeback win on Saturday and initial fears were that he could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

However, the Gunners’ medical team acted decisively by taking Trossard off quickly, and the early signs suggest that this could have prevented any significant damage to his groin. Further tests are due to be carried out on Monday, but Arsenal are optimistic that Trossard could return to action before the international break in two weeks’ time.

Trossard’s absence will be a blow for Arsenal, particularly as they prepare for their Europa League last-16 tie against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday night. However, the Gunners have plenty of attacking options to choose from, and Emile Smith Rowe could be set for a starting role after impressing off the bench against Bournemouth.

It’s worth noting that Trossard has only been at the club since January. He has made an immediate impact in the Arsenal team, providing creativity and a goal threat from the wide areas. Losing him for any length of time would be a blow, but it seems as though the Gunners have acted quickly to minimize any potential damage.

Injuries are an unfortunate part of football, and Arsenal have been no strangers to them in recent seasons. However, the club’s medical team deserve credit for their swift action in taking Trossard off quickly on Saturday, and their positive assessment of the injury will be music to the ears of Arsenal fans.

As the Gunners continue to battle on multiple fronts this season, having key players fit and available will be crucial. Trossard’s swift return would be a boost for the team, but Arsenal have shown that they have the quality and depth to cope with any setbacks.
