Arsenal leading the race to sign this Bundesliga winger

Moussa-Diaby-Arsenal

Arsenal are favourites to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s highly ranked winger Moussa Diaby. The Gunners have been given a boost after Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United pulled off the transfer race.

The 23-year-old winger was the top target of the Magpies last season and they had literally slogged their arse to get him into their squad. They, however, could not meet Leverkusen’s price tag of £60 million for the winger and had to forego him.

Newcastle have finally given up on their pursuit to get the Frenchman after getting a new target in sight. They have prioritised their focus on Nico Williams of Athletic Club and are planning to lure in the Spaniard in this upcoming transfer window.

The Spaniard comes in cheaper for Newcastle as he has only a £50 million release clause to himself. And this opportunity for the Magpies has paved way for Arsenal’s fortune. The Gunners can now intensify their pursuit to get Diaby to London.

Moussa Diaby has been sensational for Leverkusen this season and one of the main reasons for their success in Bundesliga. In the 30 games that he has played for the club, he has scored 9 goals and provided the equal number of assists. He is an asset in the defence too. He has made a whopping 169 tackles this season and covered over 280 kilometres showcasing his hard work ethic on the field which will be applauded and appreciated by Arteta.

Arteta’s team however will be facing a tussle from Paris Saint Germain who are vying for Lionel Messi’s replacement. The Argentine has decided to leave Paris by the end of this season after recent controversy with the club leaving a place void for the new winger to come.

Even though Arsenal will be thwarted by PSG who can swoop in the youngster, they are still the favourites to sign him. The French club is looking for wingers of France nationality to play for them and could well try harder to lure Diaby into Ligue 1.

Now it is on Moussa Diaby as to where he wants to go and play in the upcoming season.
