English Clubs have always got a thing on signing young sensations. The Premier League is known for building the players before they travel to Spain or Italy. One of the most sought youngster and talented prospect Cristian Pulisic has recently been signed by Chelsea.

The 20-year-old USA forward was in the scope of Arsenal since his reluctance of signing a new contract with Borussia Dortmund in November. The youngster has already made an enthralling run of 80 games for the club and will be leaving to Chelsea in 2019/20 season, presently serving Dortmund on loan. “It was always Christian’s dream to play in the Premier League,” said BVB’s sporting director, Michael Zorc. “That certainly has to do with his American background, and as a result we were unable to extend his contract. Against this background, we have decided to accept an extremely lucrative bid by Chelsea, given the low contract maturity.”

Arsenal got their interest in the American footballer during his time at Dortmund and their liking was intensified when they got to know Pulisic is interested in English football which is most likely for the players of American background.

Arsenal who are in the brink of a midfield epidemic, with Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil on verge of leaving, were in need of a long-term prospect. The enigmatic American could have been the player the Gunners wanted. The Blues almost doubled Arsenal’s initial bid of £35 million and also raised the fees over Liverpool’s £45 million.

The Borussia Dortmund playmaker who has made 18 appearances so far this season and has scored 7 goals, would have been an asset for Arsenal’s 2019/20 season. Arsenal cannot keep on losing strong prospects who are not only helpful for the present but also a potential future legend.
