The squad of Arsenal has fallen into a deep grave which is only broadening. The Emirates squad has lost trust in their Boss and is no longer confident in working under him. After the fans, it is the players who have lost any hope emitted by the Manager.

And after the draw to Southampton, the expressions were evident and enough to suggest the ongoing problem in Arsenal squad. Arsenal were almost bettered-off by a team on the verge of relegation this season. Thanks to Lacazette’s last minute goal in injury time that Arsenal could salvage a draw.

The Telegraph has reported that a source close to Arsenal has confirmed Unai Emery’s departure if the form continues to decline. The board of Arsenal has already looked for an interim manager and also potential substitutes.

A source told Telegraph Sport: “The problem is the coach. He still makes bad decisions and changes his tactics.

“There is no identity to the team and the players do not see any progress.

“The recent performances and results have had a big impact on the belief of the squad.”

“Mourinho taking over at Tottenham has only made it worse,” a source said.

“He may not be to everyone’s liking, but he is a winner and Spurs have made it clear they want to win.”

“Unai Emery is not seen as a coach on the same level as Guardiola, Klopp or even Mourinho.

“Does anybody still think they can qualify for the Champions League under the coach? I don’t think so.”

The former PSG boss has not won the hearts of his players and they are rather confused with his tactics, instructions and belief. There is no option but to replace the manager that has given fake promises.

The most likely happening in case of Emery being sacked will be assistant first-team coach Freddie Ljungberg to become interim boss. Apart from him, Brendan Rodgers, Mikel Arteta and Julian Nagelsmann are also viewed as a potential but will need a lot of convincing in the process.
