Another week, another Arsenal game, would it be the same old Arsenal?

On Thursday night, German team, Eintracht Frankfurt visit the Emirates for a Europa League show down, the looks of the group table could perhaps suggest Arsenal are safe but that is certainly not the case. Arsenal have 10 points from 4 games with Standard Liege and tomorrow’s opponent Frankfurt on 6 points. A loss tomorrow, which is not inconceivable, and a win for Liege, which is very likely, and suddenly Arsenal find themselves leading 3rd position with just a point, leaving the last matchday very delicately poised.

Eintracht Frankfurt have not been in good form of recent, ever since defeating Bayern Munich in that memorable 5-1 victory, they’ve been on a downward spiral, losing all 3 preceding games, scoring only one goal. That is not to demean them or play down the possibility of the damage they could cause, not in the slightest!. How many times, this season, have we seen Arsenal play dismally against a team in poor form. Watford were 20th on the log but somehow manage to get away 32shots against Arsenal, Southampton were 19th on the table but suddenly looked like Arrigo Sachhi’s AC Milan, every team looks legendary against Arsenal this days.

Despite being in poor form, Arsenal have played quite well in the Europa League this season they’ve scored three or more Goals in all matches played so far, and it’s highly likely that trend could keep going. They only downside is that, despite Frankfurt being able to muster only one goal in their last three games, they pose a great threat going forward. It’s not only down to Arsenal’s poor defensive nous but also down to the speedy and dangerous attacking interplay of Frankfurt, don’t let the fact they scored only one goal fool you.

This game is delicately poised and bound to be an open, end to end game, let’s hope we’re on the good side of the result. Hope.. That’s all we can do now.
