Arsenal vs West Bromwich Albion: Preview | Premier League 2020-21

After a 0-0 draw against Villarreal at home, Arsenal lost to Villarreal in the semi-finals of the Europa League with an aggregate of 2-1 and have ended their European journey for this season. And now, Arsenal will be back to the Premier League and will look to stay at the top half of the Points table. They are currently sitting in the 9th position with 49 points and will look to concentrate in winning their remaining 4 games in the League. Their recent match will be played on May 6th that is; this Sunday as they will host West Bromwich Albion, who are currently sitting in the 19th position with 26 points to their name.

Arsenal will look to put their current disappointing season on their back and will look to win their remaining matches as they face Sam Allardyce’s West Brom team, who are fighting relegation and will look to get an easy 3 points.

Whereas, for Sam Allardyce and his team, they will look to take advantage of this low confidence and a poor Arsenal side and win this fixture and get an important 3 points to their name.

For Mikel Arteta, David Luiz has still not recovered from his hamstring injury. But Granit Xhaka, who picked up a muscle injury during the warm-up against Villarreal, can be seen available for this game. Alexander Lacazette and Kieran Tierney, who were seen to come off the bench against Villarreal, will also be available to play against West Brom in the Premier League.

Dani Ceballos, who was suspended for the Europa League semi-finals second leg is now available for this game. Other than that, it is more likely that Callum Chambers will replace Hector Bellerin for this game.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION

Sam Allardyce is not expected to make too many changes to his starting lineup and could use the same back-five that started against Wolves on Monday.

For Allardyce and the Baggies, there haven’t been any fresh injuries as such. Branislav Ivanovic has still not recovered from his hamstring injury and will miss out once again against the Gunners. And Robert Snodgrass, who has still not fully recovered from his injury is also likely to miss out on this fixture.

Other than that,  Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be ineligible to face his parent club. The midfielder is unable to face his parent club as part of the terms of his loan agreement from Arsenal.
