Arsenal Women vs Bristol Women: Match Preview | Continental Cup 2023/24

Arsenal-Women-vs-Bristol-City-Women-Continental-Cup-opener

Following that defeat in hands of Paris FC and getting eliminated from the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Arsenal women will commence their defence of Continental Cup earlier then expected as they will no longer be eligible for bye in the QFs. And everything begins at the Meadow Park tonight.

Arsenal come into this with a bullying win over Manchester City in the WSL at the weekend. You could say the winning goal came lucky, but the Gunners maintained assert-ance and dominance throughout the game.

And this fixture comes as a pleasurable sound to the ears of both the Gunners faithful and the fringe players viz. Kathrine Kuhl, Kyra Cooney-Cross and Line Hurtig – who all shall get some minutes under their belt against Bristol tonight. To surprise of many none of the got it when Arsenal visited Bristol last month for their WSL campaign – but they surely should tonight.

Bristol City won their first points of the WSL season at the weekend, following what was a thriller at West Ham and they shall carry massive confidence boost from that. Although you’d expect Lauren Smith to rotate a bit as well.
