European football competition resumes for respective competitors and Arsenal FC is no exception. This coming Thursday, 25th of October 2018, the Gunners take a trip to Lisbon to meet Sporting CP at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Sporting CP is one of the giants in Portuguese together with Porto FC , Benfica. Having won two of their opening Europa games just like Arsenal FC in Group E, we dare say the Thursday encounter in Lisbon will be a feisty one.

Having said so, Arsenalscore.com will be zooming in on one of the threats of the Lisbon side in front of goal in juxtaposition with one of our red hot strikers: Alexandre Lacazette.

Bas Dost, a Dutch professional footballer plays as a forward for the Sporting CP. The 29 year old has proven himself a key player for the Portuguese side since joining in 2016. Sporting endured a turbulent campaign last season, with an exodus of many of their key players due to bad results and security issues. Dost was caught up in the latter where some radical fans smashed up their changing room and hurt players due to dissatisfaction for bad results on the pitch; Dost got hurt in the process and decided to cancel out his contract last season but resigned after 3 months after safety assurance from the club despite a major exodus of other key players.

Bas Dost has scored more than 60 goals in as many league games for Sporting CP since joining. Rated at a price of around 20m Pounds, he has qualities that any coach will seek to have in a striker. Just like Lacazette of Arsenal, he loves to hold the ball to his feet, likes to play short passes, enjoys flicks in the build up to a goal and isn’t shy of trying shots from long range. He has good aerial strengths, with a very good conversion rate of crosses into headed goals and is good with finishing off one on one situations.

Though he’s managed to score just 2 goals in the season thus far it must be noted that those two goals were from 4 game appearances, with a 2.5 ratings on shots per goal and a 5.0 ratings of shot per game. Despite not been part of his team’s win against Qarabag in their previous Europa encounter and even against Vorskla, due to his muscle injury since 19th August, Arsenal fans will be thankful to their stars one of the key men of Sporting CP who has characteristics of Alexandre Lacazette will not be part of the troubles of their back four.
