Lewis Dunk will be a perfect fit for next season

For the last two season, Arsenal have lacked a lion-kid; a guardian angel who stands tall in front of the goal keeper. Conceding more than 50 goals in consecutive seasons testimonies the meekness in our defence. The board should be reading this so that they understand the requirement of a centre-back.

The former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder has helped us cut out our tasks, finding a considerate centre-back that can probably strengthen our defensive wall. Jamie Redknapp was particularly impressed by Lewis Dunk, the herculean Brighton defender who kept Arsenal at bay in their recent outing.

In a game that ended 1-1 draw, Dunk ousted the charming attackers of Arsenal with his head held high. Gratifying his performance, Redknapp , the Sky Sports pundit said:

“Arsenal have conceded 50 goals for the second season running but the solution to their leaky defence was staring them in the face on Sunday.”

“Brighton’s Lewis Dunk defended like a warrior and would be an upgrade on any of the centre halves at the Emirates. He may not be the most easy on the eye but he just loves the art of defending. He is exactly what this Arsenal team needs.”

Shkodran Mustafi does not stand level with Dunk, thus signing him would be a definite upgrade. Glancing at the transfer budget of Unai Emery, Dunk should be signed at Emirates.

We have already overlooked a lot of potential defenders and if we do the same again to Dunk, we’ll be left with nothing but a holed wall of defence that has more spaces to fill than bricks to stand!
