I don’t think Douglas Luiz rumours will materialise in a transfer

NO PARTeY

Thomas Partey has been struggling with injury for a while now and there apparently has been a massive physical decline he has undergone gradually in the past couple of years. Despite all the rumours that Arsenal would get him out the door last summer – a decision was made, one where he rather stayed at London Colney and one which meant there’d be no more incoming midfielders in the window.

Although many would claim, Arsenal needed one additional face in there. And with Partey’s latest injury those claims have resurfaced. It’s rumoured that Arsenal would rather sign one midfielder in the upcoming winter transfer window and that means other side of plans would have to be kept deferred till summer atleast.

Arsenal were linked with a move for the Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz on multiple occasions, which includes one summer deadline transfer frenzy where it was believed he had one leg in the door. Now the rumours resurface.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that, “Arsenal are gonna look again into the midfielders market in January after Thomas injury.

Understand Douglas Luiz remains the fav option in #AFC list since long time, Arsenal love him but ambitious #AVFC want to keep Douglas. Not easy.”

WHY I DON’T THINK THE MOVE HAPPENS…

Aston Villa have always been a hectic negotiator, atleast for Arsenal. They never budge, they hold their prices, increase them where we meet it. If we are to walk in a meeting with Villa, I don’t expect a gentleman’s negotiations – atleast not until the player is internally pushing and suffocating them for a deal to be agreed.

And especially with Douglas Luiz signing a new deal now, it would be very difficult for us to convince them for any particulars that results in a transfer.
