Dutch journalist claims Ajax star Hakim Ziyech favors move to Arsenal

Reports from the Telegraph (Holland) claim that Ajax star winger Hakim Ziyech would be interested in a move to Premier League club Arsenal, if the Gunners also feel the same about him.

Ziyech drew plenty of attention with his stellar performances for Dutch side Ajax in the Champions League this season as he helped them to the semifinals of the Elite tournament. Premier League giants Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are eager to bring him to England if they can as Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich is also monitoring his situation.

The Moroccan international scored 21 goals last season and provided a further 20 assists for Ajax helping them win the Eredivisie.

But it’s quite clear that Ziyech is a big match player and deserves to play for a major club in Europe and Marc Overmars confirmed just that when he stated that Ziyech will leave the Dutch champions if a good offer comes in, “He leaves when a top club comes. He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League. Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim [that we would] agree to a good transfer.”

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have reportedly contacted Ajax over a potential deal for Ziyech but the 26-year-old is reportedly holding out for a move to North London according to Dutch journalist Marcel Van Der Kraan.

The only factor that will keep Ziyech from joining the Emirates Stadium is the fact that Arsenal will not be playing in the Champions League next season. The playmaker is also reportedly available for a transfer fee of only £25 million, which would be an absolute bargain for Ziyech.
