On a Super Sunday evening, Alexis Sanchez’ used to be club Arsenal will lock horns with Henrikh Mkhitariyan’s former club Manchester United. Both the players had spirited a miracle in January last year with what was supposed to be the most overwhelming swap of all time, I say again “supposed to be.”

Alexis Sanchez who is out serving injury will not feature in the Sunday’s battle, unlike Mkhitariyan who is suspected to start the game. Even if the Chilean had been available, it is highly unlikely that Ole would have allowed Sanchez to feature at the pitch that he owned in his days for the Gunners.

The stellar of a performers both were, successful and valuable for their ex-clubs providing and assisting their respective clubs with match winning performances. In their transfer they were expected to do the same, but have they delivered and fulfilled the expectations? No, both have been below par but the Armenian midfielder finally seems to be settling under Unai Emery while the Chilean striker has never found a way to impress the Old Trafford fans.

There has been no end to the blues of Alexis during his stay at United while Mhkitariyan finally seems to go on a splurge. Mkhitariyan is lately blossoming for the Gunners; mainly after his return from injury last month. Since then, he has unarguably been the most important, constructive and dependent of the lot for Emery and Arsenal, assisting and scoring a goal or two.

While facing his former club, Mkhitariyan would not want to jeopardise any opportunity that will come his way and prove the visitors of what a costly deal they had shaken. Since his comeback from the game against Huddersfield he has provided the club with strings of goal and assist. And if not both, the Armenian is they creating innumerable chances.

Let’s forget his struggling days at United and remember the best of his at Dortmund. The Armenian compiled with present commodore Aubameyang and Reus comprised of the deadliest trio of Bundesliga. The season of 2015, Mkhitariyan’s best where he contributed 19 goals and provided 24 assists, indirectly being involved in 43 goals, Mkhitariyan seems to be in a way similar form of 2015 that he hadn’t been over last 3 years, even in his days at United.

Averaging involvement of 116 minutes per goal with 6 goals and 4 assists this season, Henrikh looks confident after the stint of good games. He tends to be the accelerator while moving forward for the Gunners with his on the foot passes and default vision.

There is no doubt in Mkhitariyan starting the seventh consecutive game for the club, Mkhitariyan will be an unwanted threat who will be the first player on Ole’s list of discussion to WIN. A constructive man of technical quality, Mkhitariyan will throw it all to win the game for his club against his former.
