His Arsenal debut was delayed with a niggling groin recover on schedule, but Kieran Tierney is up and running for the Gunners – completing his first full ninety minutes in Reds and White yesterday in Arsenal’s Europa League 4-0 win against Standard Liege at the Emirates.

Kieran will miss out on Scotland’s upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Russia and San Marino at Unai Emery’s request, but he is thrilled to be in action for the Gunners and expressed his delight and gratefulness over Arsenal spending a record-breaking twenty-five millions to get him at N5.

You don’t mess with big Kieran

Kieran said: “It’s been a frustrating time being out injured but that’s what happens in football, you work hard and it’s all worth it for nights like Thursday.

“It’s hard, you would like to come and hit the ground running, play games but when you are injured you are a bit to the side – but the players and staff have been great with me and I could not ask for any more.

“I’m just doing my best every day. I work hard and if the manager trusts me then I’ll give 100 per cent.

“Coming here, the standard has been great for me to learn off, it’s taken me a few weeks to get up to standard and up to speed with the other boys.

“They are a world-class standard and so for me learning off them is brilliant.

“I’m delighted to be here and Arsenal have shown great faith in me by putting in a record-breaking bid, so I’m delighted.”
