List of Things that went wrong for Denis Suarez at Arsenal

Denis Suarez – A loanee that never was.

Denis Suarez could never find light at the end of the tunnel from the moment he exercised his way into Emirates. A deal overshadowed initially by desperation and then followed by thwarts of media, Suarez never looked at home. The long-term travel of Suarez that was supposed to be has ended in few month journey to England.

Talking about his time at Arsenal, was he really in London? Yeah! For sometime it looked like one but finished simultaneously with a cease of his Instagram stories. For whatever time was he in, he grabbed the most attention from media houses but not from his coach who was the same reason for Suarez’ lately unwanted travel.

Started with the cry of acclimatisation in England and followed by a groin injury was Denis’s career at Arsenal, short and utterly simple.

In an emotional statement, Suarez bid a farewell to London saying: “I am sorry that all the effort and sacrifice made to come to Arsenal hasn’t come to fruition as hoped and you can’t even imagine how angry I am about it, but health comes first.”

“I want to give my thanks again to such a big club for trusting in me although things haven’t gone as we pictured they would.”

To what was dreamt of a transitional signing in Gunners era, here’s a list of things that did not work his way!

Not all was a clear sky for Suarez. Barcelona and Arsenal have no similarity in their game-style, whatsoever. The primary concern for him was always the moulding of shape from a dynamic yet slow build-up play and tactical approach to a fast one. The struggle to adapt was evident from the word go and while he seemed like conforming to the situations, his team mates did not fancy giving him any option to start.

The injury of Mkhitariyan ceased the day Suarez arrived, as if Henrikh was waiting to add salt to Denis’s wound. Alex Iwobi did not give any chance either and Mesut Ozil back to his consistent usual closed the deal for Denis. The discontentment of half-fans shown over Suarez was also a concern that the Spaniard succumbed to.

Besides all the unwanted happenings, Suarez also went through a groin injury which only added fuel to the fire of his exit. For some fans, Suarez’ exit is lovely but circumspectly the versatility that he possessed was not one to be found often. For me, he is a future Ramsey that is lost.
