Chris Sutton has hit out at Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for his antics on the touchline in the 0-0 draw against Newcastle United in the Premier League.

The former English footballer was not at all impressed by the Spanish tactician’s actions during the game against the Magpies and called them ‘clownish’.

Arteta was visibly frustrated with some of the things that he saw that day. A lot of decisions did not go in favor of his team and the manager made sure he made his displeasure known. It was not surprising to see the Gunners’ boss react like he did. Arteta has been so used to winning this season that he might have actually not known how to react to his side drawing a game and not getting the three points after so long.

To be fair to Mikel Arteta, there were certain controversial decisions in that game that went against Arsenal. The Gunners could have easily had a couple of penalties on another day and walked home with the three points.

Speaking to Daily Mail, here is what Chris Sutton had to say about the antics of Mikel Arteta and he certainly was not impressed. “There is a fine line between being passionate and a clown and Mikel Arteta was the latter on Tuesday. It can be entertaining but it can be embarrassing, too.”

Sutton can say what he wants but ultimately, Arteta has shown he knows how to get the job done. That’s all matters as Arsenal and Arteta march on to a much-deserved Premier League title.
