Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has failed to confirm whether William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko will miss the rest of the season due to their respective injuries. The Gunners have had their fair share of injury problems throughout the campaign, and unfortunately, the end of the season is not bringing any relief to their injury woes.

Zinchenko was taken off during Arsenal’s match against Newcastle United, with reports suggesting that he picked up a calf injury – though he looked perfectly fine coming off at St. James Park. Meanwhile, Saliba has been out of action since he was taken off during the Europa League match against Sporting CP.

Although there have been suggestions that both players could miss the rest of the season, Arteta refused to confirm this during a recent press conference. He said, “We have another session tomorrow before the Brighton game. We’re trying to get players back before that day. With William, it’s for sure he’s not going to be fit for this game, and we’re doubting him for the next game.”

Despite Arteta’s vague comments, it is clear that Saliba will not be featuring in Arsenal’s upcoming match, and his involvement in the final game of the season is in doubt. However, when asked about Zinchenko’s situation, the Arsenal boss simply replied, “No.

Arteta have a history of avoiding confirming whether players will be out of action for extended periods, and he seems to prefer maintaining a positive outlook regarding their recovery.
