Arteta wants to sign RB Sacha Boey from Galatasaray as a priority

Sacha-Boey-Arsenal-Transfer

Arsenal will be in market for a new right-back come the upcoming summer, with departure of Cedric about but done. The Gunners were linked with Iván Fresneda during the winer window and the Real Valladolid starlet is said to be a priority for that right-back spot – with many around the Emirates feeling that he has world class potential.

Although, with credit to Turkish publication aksam, name of Sacha Boey and his links with a move to N5 have come under highlights. They write that Mikel Arteta ‘would love to see’ the 22-year-old French right-back in his roster.

Sacha Boey plays for Galatasaray and owing to his impressive performances he has been linked with multiple European clubs. From England, alongside Arsenal – Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are named as probable destinations for him alongside Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon and France’s Lyon. There are reports that Galatasaray rejected 8 million euros offer from Olympique Lyon. Earlier this season, there were reports that Liverpool sent scouts to watch Sacha Boey and there were multiple publications linking him with a move to Anfield.

Boey has a market value of 11 million euros, and it’s reported that a bid around 17 to 20 million should be enough to seal his services.

These links seem interesting, by the look of it – Sacha Boey seems to be a back-up or a plan B to Iván Fresneda, who clearly fits the mould of an Arteta player and has very high technical understanding. Despite these transfer links, we should also not forget that Arsenal have Brooke Norton-Cuffy in their ranks. Brooke has impressed on all of his loan moves and is said to be very highly rated by academy staff at Hale End.

What do you think Arsenal will do come summer? – Push to sign Iván Fresneda, settle for a back-up, or put their trust in another Hale End product in Brooke Norton-Cuffy?
