Should Arsenal buy Joe Worrall in January?

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall whose fine form has caught attention of the Gunners, who are looking to bring defensive reinforcements in winter.

Nottingham’s defence has been one of a kind his campaign, with the Tricky Trees conceding only fourteen goals this season, which is second-best in the Championship after League leaders Leeds United, who have conceded just ten. Forest are placed forth in England’s second division and Joe Worrall has been highly impressive for Sabri Lamouchi at the back.

Joe is making his presence felt, featuring in all of eighteen matches his season, and was handed the arm-band in their Carabao Cup fixture against Fleetwood Town and Derby County, which signifies his importance as well as abilities. However, Worrall was not part of hird round clash against the Gunners in September.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been shambolic defensively with then conceding record low number of shots in decades and were going through probably their worst period under Unai Emery.

Despite possessing qualities of FIVE centre-backs in Sokratis Papastathopoulos, David Luiz, Rob Holding, Shkodran Mustafi and Konstantinos Mavropanos in their ranks, Arsenal have conceded 21 goals so far this season. Though the increasing number of personnel for couple of available spots shows Joe Worrall will exceed the needs at Emirates.

Raher than going for someone like Worrall, Arsenal should rather focus on getting defence right with the current lads under new manager rather than getting him just making their requirements rather surplus.
