Arsenal suffered a huge Thomas Partey blow before their illustrious clash against Manchester United. According to the reports of the Ghanaian Football Association, Thomas Partey has suffered an injury while training.

The statement from the Ghanaian Football Association read, “Arsenal ace Thomas Partey is left out of the squad due to injury.” It further added, “According to his club, the player picked up an injury in training and could be sidelined for a while. However, the Black Stars medical team is closely monitoring the situation.”

Adding to the concerns, Black Stars team Doctor; Prince Pambo has also provided an update, revealing that the midfielder would not be available for the upcoming international break. Dr. Pambo stated, “He sustained a groin injury during training on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He is currently unavailable as Club Doctors predict he’s likely to be out for a couple of weeks.”

The former Atletico man was instrumental in the first three games playing as an inverted right-back and owning the position. Unfortunately, this injury setback comes as a double blow for manager Mikel Arteta, who is already without the services of versatile defender Jurrien Timber, who suffered an ACL injury last month.

Mikel Arteta isn’t someone who loves to shuffle the position of his players but will be forced to do so after Partey’s unwanted injury. This could well mean that Gabriel Magalhaes will finally get his first start of the season starting in the heart of Arsenal’s defence alongside William Saliba with Ben White being the likeliest player to start as a right-back.

Arsenal have a strong bench and would be looking to thump Man United albeit Partey’s injury. While the Gunners would look to get over their 2-2 draw against Fulham, Manchester United would love to continue their winning form after their 3–2 win against Nottingham Forest.
