Unai Emery’s reaction to Lucas Torreira’s stunning goal | Arsenal vs Huddersfield

Unai Emery has heaped the applause on Lucas Torreira, as the Uruguayan has every one talking after his stunning goal against Huddersfield Town.

It was a frustrating night for Arsenal players and supporters as Huddersfield opted for time-wasting tactics to hold them which was well complemented by Ref decisions frequently going against them.

But all those frustration was integrated into ‘One superb moment, One superb goal’ and ‘One superb man – Lucas Torreira’.

Torreira has only joined Arsenal in the summer but has already established himself as fan favorite after sting of classy performances in Arsenal colors and today was another example of the same.

Unai Emery has praised Lucas Torreira, here is What Emery said:

“Last week he scored and today also,’ Emery said.

“He has quality and his interpretation of the pitch tactically both defensively and offensively.

“He is quick in his mind and foot. We want to break every expectation.

“He is improving and he also has the commitment every day to learn English.”

Lucas has contributed in each of sixteen Premier League games this season.

Today was all about resilience and fight but Unai Emery has always told about control and Emery’s post match reaction was all about ‘wanting to win quickly’.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery, speaking to BBC Sport: “It was a tough match, like many matches, and today it is important because we didn’t have rhythm but still won. I’m very happy with the result. It was hard for us to control the match today.

“Patience is the key word today. I wanted us to win more quickly but we needed to be patient.

“We can improve more and today we spoke that we want to win matches with more control. But we are very competitive and showed character.”

I was talking about frustration and David Wagner’s post match reaction was all about it.

Huddersfield manager David Wagner, speaking to BBC Sport: “Obviously it is hard to take but I can see the positives. This was a proper fight which the players gave Arsenal. We did so many things right and limited their qualities. Unfortunately the result is what it is.

“We frustrated Arsenal, how the players did it tactically, and the shift they put in, was brilliant. Our tactics worked but unfortunately this goal was an unlucky one because the rebound and second rebound went to Arsenal.”
