Unai Emery refuses to rule out an early return for Reiss Nelson

Reiss-Nelson

Reiss Nelson is making a name for himself in Germany and Unai Emery has refused to rule out an early return from loan at Hoffenhiem. Regardless of whenever he comes back, Reiss Nelson will have a major role to play at Arsenal.

Reiss Nelson, before completing his one year loan-deal to Hoffenhiem, signed a three year extension at Arsenal while shrugging off interests from Real Madrid and Monaco.

The teenager has netted five goals in six Bundesliga appearances for Die Kraichgauer’s with the most recent one coming as a stunning curler from the edge of the box wide out against Bayer Leverkusen and now he is tied up with Robert Lewandowski in matter of number of goals scored in Bundesliga this season.

Unai Emery is keen to bring back Reiss Nelson at Arsenal and believes he will be ‘more confident’ when he is back from Germany.

“He can take responsibility, minutes and confidence in a team where he can play more,” Emery said of Nelson.

“Then the objective with him is to come back with us and grow with this experience. My experience in Spain and France is that with this loan the player can take this.

“With Reiss, we are very happy with him at the moment. We follow him every match. We are thinking how he can help us in the future.”

Asked whether he would look to bring Nelson back to Arsenal in January, Emery said: “At the moment we don’t speak about that.”

Even Reiss Nelson have kept no secret about his ambition to succeed with Arsenal.

“I’m just here to play my football in Germany.

“Hopefully I’ll come back in a couple of months – if it’s a year so be it – ready to play in Arsenal’s first team.”
