Who is Arsenal linked Newcastle superstar Fabian Schar

Fabian-Schar

The North Londoners, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have recently kept tabs on a 27-year-old centre-back Fabian Schar, recently playing for Newcastle United but grabbing the attention of alien managers.

The recent signing of Newcastle has impressed one and all with his quality on the right foot and invaluable tackles.

The Swiss international is a hometown grown-up of Wil, a city in Switzerland where he hit the ground for the first time at the age of 8 in 1999. The centre-back continued to develop and rise through the ranks before beginning his senior career in 2009 for Wil.

Growing and glowing for he was signed by Basel that gave him a chance to perform in Swiss Super League. The youngster then, Schar won the league for three consecutive years before alighting to Hoffenheim in 2015. This is where he came under the scanner of English clubs and its scout; Bundesliga a footballing warehouse from where many young starlets are stolen by English teams.

Schar, however, had to spend one more year in La Liga for Deportivo De La Coruna before finally becoming Rafa Benitez’ best bargain. Now filming as Rafa’s most dependable and irreplaceable defender, Schar has raised his market value manifolds along with being linked by two top Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Spurs.

Defensively cracked Arsenal who were eyeing the Swiss international last year too are finally looking to make their deal with him so concrete so good that even their London rivals would find hard to break through.

Why has he become Arsenal’s premier target?

Fabian Schar won Premier League’s goal of the Month [February 2018] for his stunning strike against Burnley

Schar who had never been to English Premier League before has taken into life in the English football in such brilliant manner that no one can deny/ignore his talent. And after his stunner against Burnley, yes I’m talking about the one which was rewarded with February’s best goal of the month award.

Fabian, who is never afraid to get booked for the team has a longing affinity for long shots if he gets space and if not, he will provide you with long passes in empty spaces. The defender is as strong in tackling as he is while clearing the ball out of danger. The Swiss international is not so good in aerials and is particularly focused on improving the same, however, he is strong in blocking the shots or intercepting the passes. A knowledgeable and intuitive game player, Schar has proved to be Newcastle’s wall more often than not.

Arsenal, we do need a centre-back and an ideal replacement for our ageing Koscielny and Fabian Schar seems to be the most appropriate candidate considering Koscielny has one more year to perform and also guide Fabian so that by the end of next season, we already have a finished product.
