1 incoming and 4 outgoings for Arsenal on deadline day!

Takehiro-Tomiyasu-Arsenal

Finally, the crazy summer transfer window has come to an end and Arsenal have done a decent amount of business this summer. Spending about £156.8 million for six new arrivals, the North London Club topped the Premier League spending chart this transfer window.

On the deadline day, Arsenal have managed to sell some players on loan deals. Their long hunt for a right-back is also complete as the Gunners managed to sign Japanese International Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Tomiyasu joins Arsenal from Serie A side Bologna. Making 63 appearances for the Italian Club, Takehiro Tomiyasu played an important part in Bologna’s first-team squad. He was also linked with North London rivals Spurs and Atlanta during the early period of the summer transfer window. Arsenal managed to acquire the services of the young right-back for a reported fee of £19.8 Million. The player has signed a contract with the Gunners for fours years, with an option for one additional year.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have also managed to sell some players on the deadline day.

Brazilian winger Willian Borges has joined Brazilian club Corinthians on a free transfer after terminating his contract with the Gunners. Willian joined Arsenal last season, but things didn’t turn out too good for the former Chelsea winger as he was not up to the mark in terms of his performance.

Iceland keeper Alex Runarrson, who joined Arsenal last season as backup keeper to Bernd Leno, has also left the club to join Belgian side OH Leuven on loan. The signing of Aaron Ramsdale made it quite clear for Alex that he will not find enough game time between the sticks.

England International Reiss Nelson also joined Feyenoord for the remainder of the season on loan. Nelson is a product from Arsenal’s Hale End. The forward was awarded the PL2 player of the year trophy in the 17/18 season. Starting regular matches for the first team has been difficult for the youngster, as Arteta prefers Bukayo Saka or Nicolas Pepe in the wings. According to reports, before joining Feyenoord, Nelson has also signed a new contract with Arsenal which will keep him at the club until 2023.

Last but not least, making over 183 appearances for Arsenal, Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin has also joined Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the season.

During his tenure at Arsenal, Bellerin has won 3 FA Cups and 3 FA Community Sheild Cups with the gunners. In the 15/16 season, the right-back was also a part of the PFA Team of the Year. Coming from Barca in 2011, Bellerin managed to find a breakthrough in the first-team squad in 2014. The player was the first choice right-back for former manager Arsene Wenger and was one of the best right-backs in Europe during that time.

Arsenal will not play this weekend due to the International break. The Gunners will be back in action on September 11 against newly-promoted Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium.
