Takehiro Tomiyasu dropped from Japan squad despite call-up

Takehiro-Tomiyasu-Japan

Takehiro Tomiyasu has found his feet at Arsenal, and he looks more & more a Mikel Arteta player everytime he takes field in the infamous Reds & Whites this season. He has not only displaced Alex Zinchenko out of that left-back role – something that was absurd to even think of at the commencement of last season but also put up exemplary performances where-ever he has featured, be it inverted left back, right back, or striker…

Tomiyasu was called up for the national team for Japan, although he was left-out of the opening matchday of the international break against Myanmar owing to fatigue.

Although there isn’t been any subsequent statement by Japanese FA – when we look a bit deeper into his treatment, there are hints. He wasn’t always involved in full training with the squad in the build-up to the game and was training along according to Japanese outlet Hochi News.

At the moment, there isn’t much we need to look upon there. Japan are just ensuring he isn’t overplayed and he remains involved with them in some training regime. Brazil should maybe learn from this 😛

There was some issue with Tomiyasu following that Sevilla game, but he followed it on by playing ninety-minutes against Burnley last Saturday and Mikel explained it was some issue with his contact lens.

Japan now face Syria on Tuesday, and thye will be hoping for Tomiyasu to be involved in some role…
